Attics and cathedral ceilings

Attic and cathedral ceiling insulation.

Warm air rises. If it finds a way into the attic, your heating escapes through the top. Spray foam seals those leaks and insulates cathedral ceilings and the underside of the roof deck, where it truly makes a difference.

The problem

Heat escapes through the top.

Warm air escapes from the house into the attic through openings in the ceiling: the access hatch, recessed lights, ducts and wire passages.

In a cathedral ceiling, the space between the rafters is shallow and leaves little room for insulation. The rooms under the roof become hard to heat.

What spray foam changes

Spray foam where it is truly superior.

Spray foam seals air leaks between the house and the attic. In a cathedral ceiling or under the roof deck, it insulates and seals in a single application, even in a shallow space.

At equal thickness, it insulates almost twice as well as traditional batt insulation (about R-6 per inch). To insulate the floor of a large ventilated attic, another insulation may be a better fit: we tell you honestly in the quote.

Roof ventilation and Building Code requirements are assessed before the quote. Thermik tells you what is required for your project.

How it works

How the project unfolds.

  1. Quote

You send us a few photos and measurements (or we come by if needed). You receive a written, detailed, fixed-price quote in under 24 business hours.

  2. Preparation

We send you a preparation sheet. You clear about one metre in front of the surfaces to be insulated.

  3. Work day

Our team applies the spray foam. The duration depends on the surface area and is specified in your quote.

  4. Thermal report

Within 24 hours, you receive by email the before and after thermal images that show the result.

What's included

The Zero Risk Guarantee

Every Thermik project is covered by the Zero Risk Guarantee, at no extra cost.

  1. Written, detailed, fixed quote

The written price is the price you pay. No extras, no surprises. Your quote is guaranteed for 30 days.

  2. Thermal proof before and after

Every project is documented with a thermal camera before and after the work. You receive the full report by email within 24 hours of the work being completed.

  3. Comfort guarantee

If the installed insulation does not deliver the result agreed in writing, we come back and fix it at our expense.

  4. One point of contact

The same person follows your project, from the first message to the final thermal report. You always have a direct number.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about this project.

  • Spray foam or cellulose for my attic?

It depends on your attic. Spray foam is superior for sealing air leaks, insulating a cathedral ceiling or insulating under the roof deck. For a large ventilated attic that is easy to access, cellulose may be a better choice. After seeing your photos, we tell you honestly which option fits your situation.

  • Can you insulate a cathedral ceiling?

Yes. Spray foam is well suited to cathedral ceilings, where the space between the rafters is limited. The thickness applied is specified in your written quote.

  • Do you need to visit to give me a price?

Not always. Photos of the attic access, the inside and the roof help us prepare the quote. If a visit is needed, we will tell you.
