Basement walls
Basement wall insulation.
A cold or damp basement is best fixed at the source. Spray foam applied directly to the concrete stops air and moisture, and sets the stage for a lasting finish.
The problem
Cold, damp concrete walls.
Concrete foundation walls stay cold and moisture settles in easily. A basement in that state is uncomfortable and poorly suited to finishing.
What spray foam changes
A continuous barrier, right on the concrete.
Spray foam is applied directly to the concrete. It stops air and moisture and it resists mould.
It works well with a basement finish. The thickness applied is specified in your written quote.
In a living space, spray foam must be covered with a thermal barrier, such as drywall, as required by the Building Code. Thermik tells you what is required for your project.
How it works
How the project unfolds.
Typical duration
Most residential projects are completed in one day or less.
Preparation
Clear access to the surfaces to be insulated, about one metre around them, and remove or cover anything nearby. Thermik sends you a preparation sheet before the work.
Re-entry
Occupants and pets leave the premises during the application and for a re-entry period that is generally 24 hours, according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the product used.
All year round
Interior work is done all year round, winter included.
